Abstract

This paper explores the intricate relationship between Information Systems (IS) and decision-making processes within organizations. The essence of IS lies in its ability to gather, store, process, and disseminate information, which is instrumental in aiding decision-makers in making informed choices. The study delves into the various ways in which IS can influence decision-making, from data-driven insights to facilitating collaboration and supporting strategic planning. It examines both the benefits and challenges associated with the integration of IS in decision-making, highlighting the importance of user adoption, system design, and data quality. Furthermore, the paper discusses the impact of IS on decision-making effectiveness, efficiency, and the overall organizational performance. Through an analysis of case studies and theoretical frameworks, this paper underscores the significance of a robust IS for enhancing decision-making capabilities and fostering a competitive advantage.
