Abstract

The paper "Urban Planning and Decision Sciences" examines the intersection of urban planning and decision-making processes in contemporary city environments. It delves into the complex relationships between urban designers, policymakers, and the inhabitants of urban areas, highlighting the importance of integrating scientific methodologies into the planning process. The study explores various decision sciences tools and techniques that assist planners in addressing urban challenges such as sustainable development, traffic congestion, and social equity. By analyzing case studies from different cities, the paper identifies best practices and potential pitfalls in the application of decision sciences in urban planning. It argues for a more holistic approach that considers environmental, economic, and social factors, thus fostering the creation of livable, resilient, and inclusive urban spaces.
